It's the beginning of a new month and that means a new Monthly Family Goals printable for you!
Yay! It's April! One of my favourite months of the year. It's my hubby's birthday today (yep April fools baby LOL) and it's finally starting to look a tiny bit like spring around here.
{Although after this crazy winter we're apparently about a month behind normal. The last of the snow on our lawn and in the garden is nearly gone (still piles from the plows along the road though... sigh).}
My crocuses are just starting to pop out of the ground and I can't wait to see all my bulbs bloom this month! I love the newness spring brings :)

If you'd like to print ahead for the whole year, you can find all the monthly goals printable sheets in the Printables tab at the top of this page.
Here's the printable for April:
Doesn't that green border feel very spring-ish?!
I really hope this printable helps you achieve your goals this month in your family!
Achieving Balance in 2014
In January I shared my word for the year: balance. I've continued working towards this through the month of March. I've been working this year on establishing new habits one at a time, instead of starting several at once. So far it's going well!
- In January, I worked on utilizing short amounts of time better and I continued doing that this month as well.
- In February, my new habit was planning our dinners for the week every Sunday.
In March I continued utilizing short amounts of time and creating a weekly meal plan. I also added a new goal of drinking a 16 oz glass of water at least 4-5 times per day. I was reasonably successful, but I definitely still need to keep working on this one in April :)
I've been reading several time management ebooks as part of the All Organized eBook Bundle so I'm also going to be establishing some new habits in this area in the coming months. Stay tuned for more on that!
As a family, we're continuing to work on being more grateful, my son is working on being more generous, and my daughter is working on being more peaceful. These were words we picked for the year and when we set goals each month at our family meeting, we're thinking of ways we can achieve them.
It's been challenging to keep up the gratitude, generosity, and peace when it's been such a long winter and we've really been feeling cooped up this last month. Plus we've all been sick at various points in March.
But it's a new month and we'll pick ourselves up and start fresh. Just like spring :)
If you've never set family goals, this month is a brand new opportunity to set some! Have a family meeting and discuss what you'd like to accomplish this month and write down your ideas on this printable. It's a great way to help you live more intentionally!
A Quick Look Back at March on the Blog
March continued to be a fantastic month for the 365 Items in 365 Days Declutter Challenge. New people still continue to join our Facebook group every day and I just love hearing stories and seeing pictures of people who are decluttering their homes and their lives. If you haven't joined yet, there's still LOTS of time left. Spring is a perfect time to declutter and start fresh :)
My kitchen organizing tips series continued after a short break due to illness and spending time with my kiddos during their March Break. The Food Storage Containers post was really popular. I guess keeping those pesky containers organized is a struggle for a lot of people! I still have a few places left to organize but I'm hoping to wrap this series up soon.
I've also been promoting the All Organized eBook Bundle lately. This is a fantastic deal with 23 ebooks for only $20. That's only $0.87 per book! And just like the title of the bundle says, it's ALL books about organizing! Perfect for getting organized this spring. Check it out if you haven't yet... it's only available for a few more days!
If you've missed any posts last month, you can read all the March posts here.
Last month, I set 3 goals for the blog. And I only achieved 1/2 of each of them.
- I continued to organize my kitchen and shared tips to help you organize yours but once again I had planned to write more posts this month than I actually did. Between a house full of sickies and March Break, I didn't quite get there.
- I updated my progress in the 365 Items in 365 Days Challenge but I didn't have a decluttering tips post this month. I shared lots on my Decluttering / Purging Tips and Ideas board though so hopefully you were still inspired! {By the way, if you're not following that board you really should - it's my most popular board and I pin to it daily}
- I only wrote 1 Organizing Ideas for the Weekend post instead of 2.
What's Coming Up In April On The Blog?
Here are my goals for April (they may look a little familiar!):
- Finish organizing my kitchen (for now!) and wrap up the kitchen organizing tips series so you can finish organizing yours
- Continue sharing decluttering tips and update my progress in the 365 Items in 365 Days challenge
- Write at least 2 Organizing Ideas for the Weekend posts
So, what are your family, personal, or blog goals for April? How are your 2014 goals coming along? Are you as ready for spring as I am?
Happy organizing!
