Think you have to spend a lot of money on costly organizing tools to get your house in order? Nope! Getting organized doesn't have to be expensive!
Throughout this series I'm sharing ideas to help you organize your home by either
- making simple organizers with things that don't cost very much OR
- using items you already have in a different way.
If cost has been holding you back from getting organized, now you've got no more excuses!
Today I want to show you some ideas for how to organize your electronics and entertainment items. Things like chargers, cords, ear buds, and DVD's can become overwhelming if they aren't organized. They can get misplaced, tangled, or just plain mixed up, and it's frustrating when you need to use a specific item and can't easily do that.
We keep most of our charging cords in one of our kitchen drawers.
Tips for Organizing Kitchen Drawers |
I'll be showing lots of cheap and easy DIY drawer dividers later in the series, but I got these for a few dollars at Kitchen Stuff Plus. It works for us to have everything organized in these drawer dividers. It's easy to find what we need and we have lots of plugs in our kitchen to charge phones, cameras, batteries, etc. We have a couple chargers plugged into living room outlets for the kids' tablets so they can plug them in every night.
For DVD's and video game accessories, we have everything organized in the entertainment area of our basement.

Everything is in dollar store baskets and on shelves we got on Freecycle . It's easy to find what we need and {theoretically} it's easy to put everything away :)

- I love this charging station made from a breadbox! Electronics can be charged, and all those messy cords can be hidden out of sight. If you don't have a breadbox, you can find them for very little money at thrift stores and garage sales. Details on how to make this charging station are in the link below the picture.
